Comments: Hi Your site looks wonderful. I have been a Great Dane lover for all of my life I have only owned one but he was something special. I'm interested in a fawn for spring 2006. My only concern is shipping a puppy.( I wish you were closer . I'm in MA.) How is it on a puppy? I can see your devotion to this breed It's a pleasure to see. Fondly Nancy in MA.
Comments: Happy new year! Just wanted to wish you all the best is 2006. Gemini (07/12/05 a Lexus and Sirius pup) is doing great. It is a real joy to have her as part of the family. Thanks for breeding the best!

Comments: just wanted to say great web site and beautiful pups!
Comments: Terri and Bobby, First off I want to say thank you so much for all your help. I have been looking for a Great Dane breeder for about two years. I wanted to make the right choice in the one I chose. Looks like I have found the right one!!! I am in Iraq right now and purchased my first Dane. Thank you for being patient and helping me out while I am still here. I can't wait to get home and be able to get him home as well. I can tell that your pups are your world and it made my decision that much easier....Thank you all so much
Comments: Hello, My Fiance' and I just bought our first home together, there's only one thing missing from our "fairy tale" and that's a Great Dane. We both absolutely love the breed; we have a 3 bedroom house on an acor of land, so there's plenty of room, just no one to share it with. We're really hoping to find a black male, and yours are by far the most beautiful!! Thank you so much for making this site! Randi & Trey
Comments: Wishing you all a happy Holiday season and great new year!

Comments: Terri and Bobby, I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how my Sadie is doing. It's been almost 3 years now since I adopted her and she continues to brighten up my days. She still thinks that she is small enough to fit in my lap and tries daily to accomplish it. Every time we go to petsmart she sticks out her chest and puts on her best prancing routine that she can muster. She just soaks up the attention! The smartest thing I have ever done is choose Penrose for the breeder. The love and care that you give them from day one of their existence carries on and lasts a life time. Sadie has certainly made her stamp on my heart and I am eternally grateful.
Katie and Sadie
Comments: I have been looking all over the web for a site with info on danes. Well, let me rephrase that a little. I have been looking for a site that looks like a reputable place of business and one that actually loves their pets... Looks like I found it... I want to applaud you for the time and effort you have taken for the pictures and the info given. I think that a lot people love the breed, but don't really know exactly what it is that they are getting into when decide to love such a gentle giant. The expense of the food and the vet bills alone can be quite costly. I think your adoption policy is a wonderful thing to have in place. This way people that don't know what they are doing can not go out and start breeding a dog they know nothing about. Also to have read Quinn's story, touched my heart, I would have taken him too. To have the chip registered to you was a very smart move. Kudos... I will be checking back, as my family of five and two dogs are looking to add another to our family. My husband was raised with having danes in his family and I am a huge animal lover, and even bigger fan of the great dane breed, but insist on knowing all about it before I commit. I will be talking with you soon. Great Job to you all, Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
Comments: Hi,
I own Zena, 11 month old harlequin female from Mickee and Sirius. I was hoping you or anyone else would have some suggestions on how to keep her from counter surfing ? She is such a good girl but she has begun to develop a bad habit of eating off the kitchen counter. Probably because we have children who have no problem leaving a plate of goodies there so basically she seems to be rewarded by getting up there to eat a good snack. Other than having the kids scrape out their dishes into the garbage right away does anybody have any suggestions ? Unfortunately, she isn't caught in the act so I don't want to punish her. I am sure I am not alone with this problem.
Thanks, Lynn
Comments: Hi Terri
I just wanted to let you know that Brutus (mickee and Sirius male harlequin #2) is doing great. Brutus is 10 months now and is getting really big at least thats what other people say, I don't notice it since I live with him. Every month I measure him he gets 2" taller and gains about 10 lbs. He has passed his last training class and gets lots of attention at my work and at the street fair, people are always taking pictures and giving him treats when able to. People ask if he is a show dog or if Iam going to breed him in the future. The most asked question I get is when Brutus is in the PETsMART doggie day camp or is walking around with the dog trainer,is he the great dane in the PETsMART commercial where the girl is eating the ice cream, even though they do not look anything alike since the great dane in the commercial is a female named Maggie. Thank you for breeding beauiful great danes with a sound mind and great temeraments. Iam still telling people about Penrose.
Megan, Eric, and Brutus
Comments: Hi Terri, Just wanted to drop you an update on how our girls are doing (Tarot from Mystic & Noble's 2/5/05 litter and own new baby, Rune from Lexus & Sirius's 7/12/05 litter). Tarot at 8 mths is 100 lbs and 31 inches at shoulder and Rune at 3 mths is 42 lbs...both girls are beautiful ! We just came back from vacationing in Salem, Massachusetts with them and we also took them to New Hampshire and Maine. We now know how celebrities feel as we were stopped constantly and asked millions of questions about our two beauties....we even had to let people take pictures of them !!!! Thank You !!!! Once again I am commending you on breeding the very best Dane's around, their temperaments are wonderful, your knowledge and your dedication and friendly, helpful ways absolutely nominate Penrose Danes the "only" place to purchase a Dane. Wishing You The Very Best, Al & Diane & Tarot & Rune From Delaware
Comments: My husband, Dean, and I have been researching great danes for 2 years now. Dean has always wanted one, but we wanted to be as knowledgeable and prepared as possible before we made the commitment. As I said about 2 years ago we became dedicated to our mission of owning a great dane, but our youngest son was only a year old at the time and we wanted to be able to give our newest family member the same special attention we were able to give our children when they were babies. So we waited and while we waited we "studied" constantly learning as much as we could and deciding exactly what we wanted. We finally decided to start "shopping" this year, hence puppyfind.com and ultimately your website. Both my husband and I fell in love with your puppies. They are exactly what we are looking for. But alas, another delay. My husband is in the army and just found out that he is going to Iraq in January for 12 months. However, I would very much like to purchase one of your future puppies for a welcome home gift for Dean when he returns. Sincerely, Colleen

Comments: Terri & Bobby,
As always, Scooby (7yrs) and I enjoyed your reunion. I'm now trying to decide which color do I want next? I will definately get another Great Dane! Scoobs is our buddy, I'll bet he's the most spoiled dog in the world! Okay, maybe just as spoiled as others. He loves the sofa, waterbed, car rides, and his Scooby snacks. Take care,
Love the Lachner's
Comments: Terri & Bobby- We hope that the reunion went well! We were trying to make it down but had some other things to take care of ... so we thought we'd send an update ... Bronxx will be four on Halloween! He is our "old man" ... very relaxed but still loves to wrestle. Bosko is still the "tough guy" ... he looks like a meanie ... but o boy is he a teddy bear. Benson is the baby! He is vocal (he talks a lot), very affectionate and is very emotional. You should see all of them try to pile up on the sofa in the basement with us. Everyone is in great health and all big spoiled babies! We'll email some pictures over to you soon. Jay & George

Comments: Hi Terri,
I sent you an email today, but also wanted to sign the guest book. Oreo (Lilly and Sullivan's litter, mantel female number 6, 10/28/04) is doing so well. We love her so much, my two boys could not be happier. Oreo loves to be around people, kids, and other animals. She brings so much joy to us. Oreo is a big girl now, at 11 mo she is 135lbs, 33" at the shoulders. Her beauty stops people in their tracks when we go for our walks. This summer we were stopped by many international tourists who wanted their picture taken with her. Thanks again, you have the best Danes!

You will be hearing from us sometime. Thank you, Tami messenger

Comments: HI TERRI
I just wanted to let you know that Brutus is doing great. He is 7 months now and weighs around 105 lbs and 31" at shoulders. There is a 2 year old black male Great Dane that comes to my work and Brutus is almost as big as he is. He is surprising me how fast he is growing. He has passed his intermediate training class and is going to advanced next week. If anyone has a puppy from Mickee and Sirius 01-16-2005 I would like to hear from you, to see how your pups are doing. I have already seen his sister Zena and she is such a doll.

Comments: I am not yet ready to purchase my first Dane, but when I am, she will be a Penrose Dane. Your dogs are the most beautiful I've seen (and I have done a lot of research and seen a lot of Danes). Your puppies all look very happy and healthy. Thank you for honoring the breed with your high standards.

I just wanted to let you know that we love our female harlequin Zena. She is the best and is doing great in obedience school - everyone has a great laugh at how goofy she is. If anyone else has a puppy from Mickee and Sirius that was born on 1/16/2005 I would love to hear from you and see pictures of Zena's family members. I have seen her brother Brutus and he is gorgeous. Very big and nice harlequin markings.
Thanks, Lynn

Comments: Hi Terri and Bobby, We have made no bones about how much we love Mercedes (Sadie) but I have now also fallen in love with black female #4. I can't get her but I would if I could. She is so sweet looking. She would have made a good playmate for Sadie. Oh well... thanks for sharing pictures of all your sweethearts with us. Maggie
Comments: I am intrested in a black preverably all black
Comments: Ava is a joy!!! she likes to teeth on the golden retrievers ears but he seems to like it. She has such a great personality!!!!! our house is much happier with her here. She is also cute. I dont think that we could have picked a better puppy for us.Our golden also seems much happier with a new pal thats as great as Ava. she likes to wrestle with the dog that is bigger than her now m but in a couple of weeks / months she will be bigger than him.I was away at a camp in n.m. for a couple of weeks and when i came home she knew me. which was crazy because i only knew her for two days. She likes to chew on every thing such as socks, shoes, and pieces of card bord box. she makes me feel so happy and great inside. She gained 3 lbs in one week. i love her SO SO SO SO much. if you meet her you would love her too!!!!!!
Comments: Hello, Terri and Bobby. We have Connor (Stormy/Sirius) Harlequin male #1. Born Jan 12, 2005. He is doing great. He's now 6 months and 83 lbs. Last week seemed to be the week to lose all the baby teeth he had left, I believe he has 1 or 2 left. He walks on a leash quite well, he likes to hold part of the leash in his mouth and prance as we go. Connor usually has something in his mouth and carries it around with him. Most the time it's his stuffed dog, but anything will do in a pinch. I was curious about the rest of his litter, have you heard anything? Would like to know, and if anyone reading this that has a pup from this litter (Stormy/Sirius) Jan 12, 2005, E-mail me. Just want to know how they're growing and such. This is our first Dane, and would like to hear about the others. Thanks again for giving us our good puppy (most the time). Deborah Duffy
Comments: Hi Terri, Just wanted to say HI! Loki (blk 7/02) and Clyde (harl 3/03) are still wonderful! Now that the intense growing is done we've started them backpacking this season. They love it! Loki looks so proud with his pack on, and it sure lightens my dog food load! I'm tempted to get another everytime I look at your newest litters! The older brindle boy is beautiful! We've recommended you to so many of the boys fans. We're happy to see that you came back strong after the fire. Thanks Always, Amy & Dan
Comments: Hi TERRI I bought one of your harlequin puppies (Brutus). He is doing great he has passed his puppy training class and is now going to start intermediate on Sunday. He is now 5 months and weighs 70lbs, and is losing his baby teeth. Every time I walk into my work with him people stop and ask me where I got him, and they cant believe how beautiful he is. He is in love with Malibu (a 4 month old albino harlequin) they cant stay away from each other for one second. Every day he surprises me and makes me laugh and things he does. Thank you, I am referring Penrose to customers that want a Great Dane. Megan
Comments: Hello, Hello from Missouri. Now that Mercedes has been home with us for 2 weeks, we are more in love than ever. I knew when I saw her on your site that she was meant to be with me and I was right! Everyone that sees her falls in love with her too. Many people have asked where we got her and I always tell them. I also truthfully tell them that we wouldn't get a Dane from anybody else. I can't wait to come to a reunion! God bless you up there in the high altitude... Maggie (Sadie's biggest fan)
Comments: Terry and all;
Molly has been home with us for two weeks, she is everything you expect and want in a Dane. I am really enjoying her curiosity and thirst for adventure. It makes me smile every time she picks her head up and prances down the street next to Hailey our 8 year old Dane, they do really well on our walks with Molly shadowing Hailey's every move. Hailey is gradually getting use to Molly, although neither is quite sure how to play with the other one, but they are getting there. Sometimes Hailey has to sneak off to the upstairs for a little break, but puppies do that to you. Thank you for doing such a great job in providing such perfect little Dane puppies with all the right characteristics to make them great companions. I will send pictures so you can see how well she is doing.
See ya, Patti
Comments: I actually came across your puppies by pure curiosity. I was thinking about getting a bigger dog ( we have Pugs) and noticed your beautiful puppies on PuppyFind. After viewing your site I was very impressed with how much time you must spend with your dogs. I just love watching the puppies grow and looking back on puppies from the past. I wasn't quite ready to buy a puppy yet but I couldn't get one of your Harlequin females out of my mind - I just had to have her ! We bought her and we are so happy we did. She is only 5 months old now but she is so calm and laid back such a sweetheart with my two year old daughter. I get so many compliments out walking or at the vets about how gorgeous she is. Everyone loves her. I am so happy we decided to go with Penrose Great Danes and if I ever decide to get another it would only be with you. I would highly recommend your puppies to anyone who wanted a Great Dane. Thanks, Lynn
Comments: Hi Terri, Since the last time I signed your guestbook, I have now become the proud owner of the exact puppy I fell in love with and I can't wait until the 1st when we pick her up. Your Danes are so wonderful that yours are the only ones I would buy without first seeing them in person. I trust the quality of health and personality that your dogs have. Mercedes will be so loved and respected not only in our home but in our small Missouri town. She will be my handicap service dog and I have no doubt that she will be everything I need and more. Thank you Terri & Bobby!!! You couldn't have made a disabled grandma happier and safer. Blessings! Maggie

Comments: Hi Terri and Bobby too,
I know that I already let you know how my little Tarot was doing a few days after we brought her home to delaware, but now I would like to share with all who visit your guestbook! On Feb 5th, 2005 my new little girl was born to Mystic and Noble, and after watching her grow every week via Terri's awesome pictures on this website I was able to fly her to her new home in delaware. She is by far the greatest addition to my family, her gentle playful ways add such joy to my life! Thank you again for taking the time to answer questions and breeding such friendly dane's. I know this is the breed and breeder for me.......! p.s she is now 39 lbs at 13 1/2 weeks and just beautiful!
Comments: Terry, I really enjoyed our recent visit to your kennel, the Danes are beautiful and so sweet mannered. I was very impressed with your operation and how healthy all your dogs appear to be. I am very excited about little Molly coming to live with us, she is just what I was looking for. The opportunity to meet the parents as well as a pup from their previous litter was a great bonus. It is apparent you do this for the love of the Breed.
See you on "Pick-Up day.
Patti McKee
Comments: Hi Terri, I am just about ready for my new puppy. I was looking at your new babies and have fallen for the white female with the merle markings. I will be sending an email to you today to ask the price. She is beautiful. See you soon! Maggie Fields (Harrisonville, MO)
Comments: I am considering a Great Dane as a future pet and member of the family. I do have a few questions, however. First off, what is a proper diet for a Dane... ie. how much food and what types of food would you recommend? Second, is care for a Harlequin coat color, as far as sun protection, different from that of a black or fawn coat color, and if so how much time goes into the care? Lastly, I have been told that Danes make good house dogs and don't require excessive amounts of exercise, I would like to know if this is true or not? I hope you can give me some insight, and help me make a choice, I love the breed and have heard nothing but good things about them! I hope to hear back from you soon. |
